GIVE UP THE KING

barbed wire.png

For every heart, there is a king that reigns over it. This king is the ego of the mind, which has been shaped by a society that glorifies greatness. Throughout our lives we have experienced fears of rejection and fears of conformity. We have also struggled with maintaining our balance because of those who seek to disrupt it. Many of us end up surviving, letting themselves go only as far as their minds let them, instead of living by pushing the boundaries and challenging their fears. They let their egos and people around them control their fates to avoid the feeling of rejection. They have either stayed safe in a bubble of complacency or have grown bitter and arrogant trying to have their way. These are the ones who will always be slaves to themselves and their kings.

Dead King is about defying the kings around us as well as within us. We burn our thrones and renounce our crowns in our search for inner peace. We keep moving forward with our heads held high while maintaining our self-respect and respect toward others. We already hold the key to our own salvation. Freedom is obtained purely by a change in belief and a will to keep fighting. This is a choice that no one can take no matter how much they will try to leave you feeling lost and alone. We follow our heart because it knows life's true values and its fire fuels our fight against the kings that will try to reign over it. We do not always have control over what this world gives us so we must embrace fear, humility, pain and suffering. We are meant to be broken down so we can learn to rebuild, keeping ourselves humble and confident throughout our journey. No matter how many times we fall, we shall always rise from the ashes stronger than before. In the end, we will be immune to the toxicity of society and we shall stand undefeated with a heart of gold.
